Countless people experience God's blessings when they tithe, but often the first step is the hardest one to take. That’s why we created the Three-Month Tithe Challenge. Put God first in your finances for 90 days, and if you do not experience His faithfulness, we will refund 100% of your tithe. The Bible asks us to give our first and our best back to God and He will bless the rest (Leviticus 27:30 NIV84, Deuteronomy 14:23 TLB). This first is the tithe, or “tenth” of our income. We return to the Lord 10% of what He's given us, because it belongs to Him. The tithe is a very practical and tangible way to put God first. If you are not tithing already, a great way to start is with the Three-Month Tithe Challenge. Essentially, it's a contract based on the promises of God in Malachi 3:10-11. We commit to you that if you tithe for three months and God doesn't hold true to His promises of blessings, we will refund 100% of your tithe. No questions asked. Worship ArtsWhen you experience God you leave changed. We want you to experience God in a real and powerful way through our worship at Element Church. Our goal is to help provide a meaningful environment for all to experience God. We believe deeply as a ministry that worship cannot simply be a song that we sing. Romans 12:1 says: “Therefore brothers, in view of God’s mercy, I urge you to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God, this is your spiritual act of worship.”As a ministry this is our foundational scripture. We believe that true worship involves every aspect of our lives. It involves us becoming a living sacrifice, a continuing desire to lay aside our will and accept God’s. Our worship can take the form of a heartfelt song expressing that desire to God. It can take the form of a prayer, a drama, or a video. It happens when we read and study scripture together. It happens when we serve others and deny ourselves. Our hope is that we don’t just do worship, but that we live worship. Will you join us in leading lives of passionate worship?Opportunities to MinisterWe would love to have your help in leading lives of passionate worship. Here are just a few ways you can get involved.Become a band member or vocalistJoin the Video Production TeamJoin the Media/Audio TeamHelp with Graphic Arts DesignWe want you to be able to connect your God given talents and abilities in worship. CommitElement Church is a family, adopted by God (Gal. 4:6-7; Eph. 1:5). From him we receive the privilege to worship Jesus together, serve in his kingdom, and be his children. We care for each other, pray for each other, and serve together.Guests are always welcome within our household. For those interested in transitioning from guest to family member, the membership process is your opportunity to learn more about us, and our opportunity to get to know you.The leadership of Element Church strives to love and care for its members well (Eph. 4:11-12; Gal. 6:10). In turn, we rely on our members to accomplish our collective work as the church (Eph. 2:10). As an organization, we operate with minimal staff, budget, and programming because we trust the Holy Spirit to move through the transformed hearts of our members, mobilizing the collective body of Christ in humble ways to love the city, love our family, and glorify God on his terms. For members, the call is demanding (Mark 8:34-35). The opposition is great (1 Peter 5:8). But Jesus goes with us (Matt. 28:20).Element 101 classes will begin in April. . For more information about becoming a member, please email us here.

BAPTISMThe Bible clearly teaches that baptism is the first step of obedience after making a commitment to Christ. Baptism allows a believer to communicate to the world their heart-felt commitment to Christ. People often have questions regarding baptism: Why should I be baptized? I’ve already been baptized. Do I have to do it again? Does it matter if someone is sprinkled or dunked? For more information about our baptism class contact us here.

SALVATIONThe Bible tells us that Jesus is God incarnate; He is God the Son, eternally one with God the Father and God the Holy Spirit. He alone can forgive our sins and give salvation. The writer of Hebrews explains how "In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe. The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven" (Hebrews 1:1-3).Many people believe that Jesus lived, was a good teacher and a very spiritual man, but they deny that he is God. A diluted Jesus is not the real Jesus. We must be careful to believe in the Jesus that he himself declared he was, "not be[ing] led astray from [our] sincere and pure devotion to Christ" (2 Corinthians 11:3).Here are seven declarations and actions of Jesus that show us who he believed he was and is:1. Jesus said He was GodMatthew 26:63-65 "But Jesus remained silent. The high priest said to him, 'I charge you under oath by the living God: Tell us if you are the Christ, the Son of God.' 'Yes, it is as you say,' Jesus replied. 'But I say to all of you: In the future you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven.' Then the high priest tore his clothes and said, 'He has spoken blasphemy! Why do we need any more witnesses? Look, now you have heard the blasphemy.'"John 8:58-59 " 'I tell you the truth,' Jesus answered, 'before Abraham was born, I am!' At this, they picked up stones to stone him, but Jesus hid himself, slipping away from the temple grounds."John 10:30-33 " 'I and the Father are one.' Again the Jews picked up stones to stone him, but Jesus said to them, 'I have shown you many great miracles from the Father. For which of these do you stone me?' 'We are not stoning you for any of these,' replied the Jews, 'but for blasphemy, because you, a mere man, claim to be God.' "John 14:8-9 "Philip said, 'Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us.' Jesus answered: 'Don't you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, 'Show us the Father'?' "2. Jesus said He came from heaven, God's eternal dwelling placeJohn 6:38 "For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me."John 16:28 "I came from the Father and entered the world; now I am leaving the world and going back to the Father."3. Jesus said He was sinless, as God alone is without sinJohn 8:46 "Can any of you prove me guilty of sin? If I am telling the truth, why don't you believe me?"4. Jesus forgave sinMark 2:5 "When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, 'Son, your sins are forgiven.'"Luke 7:48, 49 "Then Jesus said to her, 'Your sins are forgiven.' The other guests began to say among themselves, 'Who is this who even forgives sins?' "5. Jesus said He was the only way to heavenJohn 14:6 "Jesus answered, 'I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'"John 11:25 "Jesus said to her, 'I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies.'"6. Jesus accepted worship as GodMatthew 14:33 "Then those who were in the boat worshiped him Jesus, saying, "Truly you are the Son of God."John 9:38 "Then the man said, 'Lord Jesus, I believe,' and he worshiped him."7. Jesus performed miracles including raising others and himself from the deadMatthew 4:23 "Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people."Matthew 17:18 Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of the boy, and he was healed from that moment.Luke 8:49-50, 52-55 "While Jesus was still speaking, someone came from the house of Jairus, the synagogue ruler. 'Your daughter is dead,' he said. 'Don't bother the teacher any more.' Hearing this, Jesus said to Jairus, 'Don't be afraid; just believe, and she will be healed.' …Meanwhile, all the people were wailing and mourning for her. 'Stop wailing,' Jesus said. 'She is not dead but asleep.' They laughed at him, knowing that she was dead. But he took her by the hand and said, 'My child, get up!' Her spirit returned, and at once she stood up. Then Jesus told them to give her something to eat."Luke 7:12-15 "As he approached the town gate, a dead person was being carried out—the only son of his mother, and she was a widow. And a large crowd from the town was with her. When the Lord saw her, his heart went out to her and he said, 'Don't cry.' Then he went up and touched the coffin, and those carrying it stood still. He said, 'Young man, I say to you, get up!' The dead man sat up and began to talk, and Jesus gave him back to his mother."John 11:43, 44 "When he had said this, Jesus called in a loud voice, 'Lazarus, come out!' The dead man came out, his hands and feet wrapped with strips of linen, and a cloth around his face. Jesus said to them, 'Take off the grave clothes and let him go.'"Luke 24:5-8 "In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, 'Why do you look for the living among the dead? He [Jesus] is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: 'The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.' Then they remembered his words."

Soap MethodSOAP is short for Scripture, Observation, Application and Prayer and is a simple way to approach your personal devotion time with God.Here’s what you need:1.Bible. Be sure to get a Bible translation you can understand. The New International Version (NIV) Study Bible is a great start. It contains footnotes, definitions, a concordance, and other tools to help you understand the Scriptures.2.Journal. This is your Spiritual DVR. It helps you capture and record all of the good stuff God wants to speak into your life.3.Pen. Obviously, so you can write stuff down.4.Reading Plan. You can download the Element Daily Devo/Reading Plan here on this website.5.Scratch Pad. This is to write down all those little annoying things that creep in while you’re trying to focus on God’s voice. Make a “To Do” list of things for later.Note: It’s also helpful to set a specific time and place where you meet God each day. If you know when and where you plan to “meet God,” you are more likely to show up. He will certainly be there waiting for you! Here’s what you do: Very simply, carve out a quiet time each day. During this time, go through your daily reading this way:1. S for ScriptureTake time reading and allow God to speak to you. Highlight, underline or place a mark in the margin of your bible next to the scriptures that stand out. When you are done, reread the verses you marked, look for one that particularly spoke to you that day, and write it in your journal.2. O for ObservationWhat do you think God is saying to you in this scripture? Ask the Holy Spirit to teach you and reveal Jesus to you. Paraphrase and write this scripture down in your own words in your journal.3. A for ApplicationPersonalize what you have read by asking yourself how it applies to your life right now. Perhaps it is instruction, encouragement, revelation of a new promise or corrections for a particular area of your life. Write how this scripture can apply to you today.4. P for PrayerThis can be as simple as asking God to help you use this scripture, or it may be a greater insight on what He may be revealing to you. Remember, prayer is a two-way conversation, so be sure to listen to what God has to say! That’s it! SOAP. It’s as simple or deep as you want it to be.Additional great elements for your time of Personal Devotion:•Worship: Have an iPod or guitar handy•Prayer List: Create a prayer list in the back of your journal. Write down specific, answerable prayer requests. Date each one. Read through them regularly, and remind God what you are believing for. When God answers each prayer, record the date and celebrate!•Scripture Memorization: Pick a few Scriptures from your reading that you want to commit to memory. Write them in the back of your journal. Review them regularly, until they become automatic!FOR DEEPER STUDY•Reread the daily passage in a different Bible version, translation or paraphrase•Utilize online resources, such as those available from Crosswalk.•Utilize a commentary, such as those by Matthew Henry or online at Bible Gateway.•Cross-reference your daily reading, using the footnotes in your study BibleResearch words in their original language using a Strong’s Concordancelives.

Men's MinistryAt Element, our desire is to biblically train and equip men to be spiritual leaders in their homes, in the church, and in their places of business. The Men’s Ministry develops men in Christian living to make a positive impact for this generation and those to come. We will accomplish this mission through Bible study, Life Groups, leadership development, accountability groups, mentoring, retreats and special events. In today’s culture, it’s increasingly important for men to honor God with their hearts and lives. For More Information about Men's Ministries, contact us here.

Authentic WomenAt Element Church, women have the opportunity to build relationships with each other. Spiritual friendships can be formed in many ways within Authentic Women’s Ministry. Getting together for coffee, studying the word of God, enjoying a girl's night out or attending a retreat are just some of the opportunities that are a part of Authentic Women. Our desire is to train and equip Authentic Women to love others, serve others and to make a difference in our world. “Summing it all up, friends, I'd say you'll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious—the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse. Put into practice what you learned from me, what you heard and saw and realized. Do that, and God, who makes everything work together, will work you into his most excellent harmonies.” Phillipians 4:8For More Information about Authentic Women, click here.

Life GroupsWhy Life Groups?Life is relationships, the rest is just details (Gary Smalley). If we are too busy for relationships we are probably too busy. Relationships are the way God has designed many of our human needs to be met. At Element Church we desire Life Groups (small groups) to be a way of life, not another program. They are a place to build community and grow in our faith. What are Life Groups?A Life Group is a weekly gathering of people, often from different walks of life, who come together to enjoy God and one another through prayer, worship, friendship, discussion, encouragement, and service. Life Groups are a great way to meet new people and grow in your faith. What If I Don’t Like the Group?Feel free to come and check it out for the first two (2) weeks. If it’s not for you, you can opt out with no guilt or bad feelings! How Long Do the Groups Last?Generally 10-12 weeks. We do Life Groups in a semester system – Spring, Summer, and Fall. Our BeliefsVery simply, we believe that all people, period, are loved by God. We believe that the best life imaginable is one that is lived in tune with God and His heart. We believe that through the free gift of salvation we can spend eternity with God. We believe that God created all that is and that He loves His creation. We believe the first humans chose a path that was outside of God's design and it led to a brokenness in His perfect creation. We believe that God has been working to restore His creation and specifically came to earth as a man, Jesus Christ, to show His love in human flesh. We believe that He died to bring redemption to all creation and that now we can live in touch with God. We believe that our heart can be in alignment with God's heart only with the help of the Holy Spirit. We believe that Christ came to begin a movement, not another religion. We believe that the Church (worldwide) -- while it has done its best to fulfill the heart of God, has not always done so. We long to be the Church that Christ intended us to be.Core BeliefsGodWe believe there is only one true God, eternally existent in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. GloballyOur desire is to be a globally minded church. We want to partner with others to see that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is shared around the world. Paul made a ground breaking statement that would change everything in the church, when he wrote to the church of Corinth. 2 Corinthians 10:15-16 says, “we have the hope as your faith increases, our area of ministry will be greatly enlarged, so that we may preach the gospel to the regions beyond you."

LocallyLocally, we have a desire to partner with quality organizations that serve the needs of the greater Lake Nona/Orlando area and provide outreach events that show God’s love in a tangible way. Our desire is to be a sending church, realizing that our influence to impact the Kingdom of God is our calling. We want to see organic multiplicity take place throughout Element Church. Multiplying people, Life Groups and churches. Our Vision is audacious because we serve a God that tells us that All things are possible through Him.

Our StoryThe BeginningThe Element story is not unique in nature, it is however another story of obedience to God and His faithfulness to guide the way. In August of 2010, after over a year of prayer and fasting, Jeremy and Tiffany Johnson took the leap of faith to plant a church in the southeast Orlando, FL community of Lake Nona. In September, the Johnson’s along with two other families met in a living room, 6 adults and 6 kids. Jeremy preached to 4 people and Tiffany led the Kids ministry. The Johnson’s converted their garage into a worship room for the kids. During the first couple of weeks, the core group decided to call the church, Element Church. After only 6 weeks, with no advertising, the core group had outgrown the living room and needed a new meeting space. The TransitionThe Lake Nona YMCA was the perfect facility for Element Church. God opened the door for a partnership between the YMCA and Element on November 7, 2010. The church began meeting to continue their core group development on that date. The group has continued to grow ever since. The LaunchElement Church officially launched on September 11, 2011. They are currently meeting every Sunday at 10:30 am at the Lake Nona YMCA. They have used the time before the launch to establish Life Groups, build ministry structure and put the finishing touches on the Church. If you are interested in joining the Element family, we have reserved a place for you. This is an opportunity for you to be a part of something special from the ground floor. You can have a role in this thrilling story. To Be Continued……
